Zippy: I'm Zippy, a perpetually bored toddler mum with a serious love of Japan, and a hatred of staying at home. I have an undergraduate degree in French and Japanese, and a masters in Contemporary Japan. I have been interested in Japan for more than 12 years. My first Japan blog never got finished sadly, but it documented my undergrad year abroad Japan(09/12-08/13). After that first experience, I decided I needed to go back and live there again. I just didn't want to leave my (now) husband behind again. Fast forward a few years, I do a masters to satisfy my craving for Japan, but fall pregnant half way through it. I finished the masters a month before I gave birth, and I really thought my Japan dream was dead after having a child. But one dark night in January, I was holding my child, and saying to husband how all I ever wanted was to go back to Japan, and he finally relented. We decided back in January 2017, we were going to do it as team, to make me happy, no matter what the cost. I am incredibly grateful to my husband for risking his whole career to support my dream.
